A Deltic idles on shed as 30926 'Repton' takes the 09:05 shuttle to Goathland past Esk Valley. The sound echoes off the cottages to the right of the recording position. 1:25, 1.6MB.
In Grosmont station. 75029 runs light engine from the station out to the tunnel mouth, then reverses. Deltic D9009 glides down from the shed, emerges from the tunnel and runs into the station. 3:10, 3.7MB
D9009 departs from Grosmont with the 09:45 to Pickering. 1:39, 1.7MB.
With the 10:45 departure, 60007 starts the climb to Goathland along the long siding at Grosmont and past Esk Valley. 2:16. 2.7MB

June - 1960's weekend

15th June
In Levisham station. The crossing yodalarm sounds, signals are set and 80135 runs into the station with the Pickering Pullman. D7628 hoots from the rear, 80135 replies and the train departs. Signals are reset and the crossing barrier is opened. 3:52, 4.4MB.

16th June
Looking down into the the gorge from Huggitt's Scar, 80135 climbs towards Newtondale Halt with the 14:27 from Pickering. 1:40, 1.9MB
In woods to the east of the line B1 61264 takes the 16:26 from Pickering towards the reverse curves below Skelton Tower. 0:47, 0.9MB.
It as just started raining as 60007 takes the North Yorkshire Pullman (19:20 off Grosmont) up the gradient towards Green End. After a slip, 60007 makes a controlled recovery and slowly accelerates the train up the bank. 3:28, 4.0MB

17th June
Class 25 D7628 idles in Platform 3 at Grosmont. The crossing gates close as Deltic 55019 slowly draws stock into Platform 2. D7628 departs with the 10;15 shuttle working to Goathland. 1:49, 2.1MB.

Opposite the valley from Raper's Farm, D7628 climbs towards Newtondale Halt with the 11:20 from Pickering. 2:12, 2.5MB.
61264 takes the 12:20 from Pickering up Newtondale gorge, north of Skelton Tower. The cylinder drain cocks are opened as the loco passes. 1:21, 1.5MB
Autumn Steam Gala

28th September
60007 climbing to Green End, with the 09:50 from Grosmont, slipping 3 times then recovering. 2:25, 2.8MB.
In windy conditions, K4 61994 (front) and Q6 63395 (rear) restart the 12:20 from Pickering away from Levisham. 1:49, 2.1MB.
With Lambton Tank No 29 standing the siding with the shuttle stock, 61994 leaves Goathland towards Moorgates with the 13:50 from Grosmont. 1:19, 1.5MB
In heavy rain 61994 takes the Pickering Pullman stock past Darnholme. 0:59, 1.2MB
